Remembrance Commemorations in Billingshurst

Arrangements for Billingshurst - November 2020

Remembrance Sunday 2020 is going to feel very different from what we are used to, especially as it falls during the second lockdown our country has experienced this year. Despite this, it is still very important to remember the sacrifices made for our peace and freedom through two World Wars and subsequent conflicts. Whilst we cannot gather this year, you may like to pause at your front door at 11:00am on Sunday 8 November for the two minutes’ silence. If you live near enough, you will hear a single church bell being tolled at that time. In order to mark the sacrifices of those who came from our community of Billingshurst, a simple act of Remembrance was filmed at our War Memorial just before lockdown. That video will be available on YouTube from 10:00am on Remembrance Sunday to help you mark the day. You can watch the video by clicking on the link below any time after 10:00am on Sunday 8th.

Please also remember that you can still donate to the Poppy Appeal, and if you are a UK tax payer, you can make your donation go further by ticking the Gift Aid box. You can print off a poppy poster and make donations by clicking the link below. Let your household wear its poppy with pride!
