The Parish Council is the landowner of the registered common land at Adversane Green.

The bollards surrounding the green are in the process of being replaced.

In 2022, the Council placed a beacon on the green as part of its celebrations for HM Queen's Platinum Jubilee. On the evening of Friday 3rd June, the beacon was lit by Chairman of the Council Cllr. Paul Berry; a large number of residents came to watch the beacon lit up for the first time.

In 2023, on Friday 5th May, the night before the Coronation of TM King Charles & Queen Camilla, the Council held a beacon lighting event on Adversane Green. Council Chairman Cllr Paul Berry lit the beacon again and it was lovely to see local residents enjoying the moment on deckchairs with fizz and nibbles. The inclusion of Scottish Piper Alan Foggie really did make it all the more atmospheric and memorable.

In 2024, on Thursday 6th June, in commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, the beacon was once again lit by the Parish Council Chairman Cllr. Ken Peters. The assembled gathering was serenaded beforehand by a Scottish Piper, who during the evening could view a collection of military equipment of the era kindly presented by a local enthusiast. Representatives of the Billingshurst Branch of the Royal British Legion were also in attendance with their fundraising stand and their very own band. A fitting event to mark such an important milestone.

In 2025, on Thursday 8th May, in commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of VE-Day, the beacon was again lit by Parish Council Chairman Cllr. Paul Berry. Scottish Piper Rhona McGurk set the tone before the small, assembled crowd joined to sing I vow to thee my country.
